Will There Be Snow In Sneyd This Weekend?
Make a last minute decision to run in this festive race at the weekend...
If you're in the market for a festive race this weekend, then how about the Sneyd Christmas Pudding Run? The long-standing event is set to take place on Sunday (11 December) with entries remaining open until 7 December.
The Pudding Run sees participants complete 5 or 10 miles around Bloxwich after which they are rewarded with a selection of gifts - just in time for Christmas! Yes, for taking part runners can expect a medal, t-shirt, Christmas pudding and goody bag. Organisers comment: "We hope our selection of goodies will bring a smile to every finisher’s face!"
Organised by Sneyd Striders Running Club, the races attract a good mix of runners, many from local clubs, who lap up the course, atmosphere and support from marshals and spectators.
This an open route where participants take left turns around Bloxwich as they run one lap or two on paths and roads. Some will go big or go home from the outset; others happy to take their time and enjoy the day with friends or teammates. There are trophies and cash prizes to the top three men and women and vet category winners in the 10 miler; 1st, 2nd and 3rd male and female in the 5 miler and don’t forget the Fancy Dress prize.
Indeed, fancy dress is an important aspect. There will be people running in a variety of costumes in keeping with the theme, plus the fact it is a good excuse to do so!
