There are plenty of water and feed stations located on the course, to make sure you're fully hydrated and fuelled up! You'll also meet wonderful marshals along the course who'll give you lots of encouragement and help if required.
Starting and finishing in the village of Slaithwaite, pronounced 'Slawit' to the locals, this is perhaps the most undulating canal by a long chalk. This stretch of the Huddersfield narrow gauge canal has lots and lots of lock, which is wonderful going one direction and a little less wonderful the other direction. The course runs out to Tunnel End which is a 3.5 mile tunnel under the pennines where the canal boats used to go. You can still take a boat trip through or kayak on certain days.
