The SilverBackTrails Summits of the North York Moors is organised by SilverBackTrails and starts and finishes at Goathland Village Hall in the North York Moors National Park. This challenging 120 mile ultramarathon follows a circular route linking the ten highest summits in the National Park, offering an unforgettable test of endurance, navigation and resilience.
The route includes approximately 16,000 feet of ascent on well defined tracks, ancient trods and long distance trails including sections of the Cleveland Way, Esk Valley Walk and Lyke Wake Walk. Runners pass prehistoric burial mounds, medieval boundary stones and ancient crosses while travelling through one of England's most historic and unspoilt upland landscapes.
The event is fully supported with indoor checkpoints, additional aid stations, GPS tracking and drop bag facilities. A 35 hour time limit, mandatory kit requirements and experienced event support ensure runners are well prepared for the challenge, while hot food, refreshments and a bespoke finisher's medal await those completing this memorable North York Moors ultramarathon.
