The Goathland V Trig Challenge is a 37 mile trail challenge in the North York Moors National Park, starting and finishing in the village of Goathland. Open to runners and walkers, the event can be completed solo, in pairs or in groups.
Participants navigate their own route between five trig points and a series of checkpoints, using public rights of way across moorland, trails and hilly countryside. The course combines long distance endurance with route finding through varied terrain and open landscapes.
The challenge is self supported with checkpoint refreshments provided along the route. Runners and walkers have up to 15 hours to complete the course before returning to Goathland Village Hall for the finish.
