Festive Fun in the Forest!
Celebrate Christmas this year at The Sherwood Pines Christmas 10K & 5K...
Why wait until December for your first festive race of the season? The Sherwood Christmas 10K and 5K is scheduled for 26 November and is the perfect way to get your Christmas countdown off to a flying start.
Race organisers, Nice Work, say: "End the year on a high by joining us in the picturesque forest of Sherwood Pines, for the Sherwood Christmas 10K and 5K. Great for seasoned pros or total newbies, the route's gorgeous greenery is sure to motivate any runner to the finish."
Taking place at Sherwood Pines which was once part of the ancient Sherwood Forest, the park is the largest of its kind in the East Midlands and the routes follow trails and footpaths through the deep green forests.
Runners will enjoy a looped course which spans through the naturally undulating trails within the forest, making their way along dirt tracks flanked by the towering woodland. This is a race that allows its participants to fully enjoy the power of 'tree-bathing'!
November is the ideal time to show off all your summer training and with the two route options, advanced and beginner runners will find a suitable challenge.
Speaking about their event, organisers continue: "Come for the finisher's medal or the stunning scenery. Sherwood is the perfect setting for a traffic-free race. Dress to impress Santa with a special prize to the best dressed and there will be festive finish line goodies and a bespoke medal."
