Sheffield Half Marathon

Sheffield Countdown Begins Now

Sheffield's half returns this spring, with spots still up for grabs...

The Sheffield Half Marathon returns on 29 March, bringing thousands of runners to the streets of Sheffield for one of the region’s biggest running events. Widely regarded as South Yorkshire’s leading half marathon, the race will once again start and finish at Arundel Gate, where large crowds are expected to line the route and welcome runners home.

Participants of all abilities will take part, raising significant funds for a wide range of charities while experiencing a course known for both its challenge and scenery. The route climbs out of the city towards Ringinglow, offering expansive views across the Peak District National Park before returning to the city centre finish.

The race also incorporates a 'triple test' giving entrants a chance to be crowned Peaks Challenge winners in a timed hill climb, triumph in a timed 10K downhill sprint section, and cross the finish line first to lift the Sheffield Half Marathon title.

An event village will operate in the city centre throughout race day, featuring food and drink vendors alongside partner charities supporting participants and spectators. Runners in 2026 will also have the option to upgrade their race day experience through the Erdinger Runners Lounge, which offers pre and post race hospitality, secure baggage, refreshments and recovery facilities.

Organisers say: "This iconic Yorkshire race continues to rely on the support of volunteers and spectators who help create the atmosphere that has made the event a fixture in the regional running calendar. So come join the fun!"
