The Sharpness 4 is a four mile road race starting and finishing at Sharpness Sports and Social Club in Gloucestershire. The course begins with a short out and back section alongside Sharpness Docks before crossing Sharpness High Bridge and heading towards the village, with quiet country lanes forming much of the route.
Runners can expect an undulating single lap course with approximately 260 feet of climbing across the four mile distance. After crossing the bridge, the route heads through the village before following an anticlockwise loop through the surrounding countryside. The return takes runners back across Sharpness High Bridge and towards the sports and social club for the finish.
Part of the Gloucestershire AAA Road Race Series, the Sharpness 4 provides a distinctive road racing challenge over an unusual distance. The combination of rural lanes, changing gradients and sections around the docks gives the course plenty of character, while the four mile format makes for an engaging test of pace and endurance.
