Severn Valley Trail Run is organised by Severn Valley Challenge Events and takes runners through the varied countryside of Severn Valley Country Park near Alveley in Shropshire.
The 10K course is entirely off road, following a mixture of woodland trails, dirt paths, gravel tracks and grass, with only short sections of surfaced path. The hilly route features natural climbs, descents and uneven ground, with some more technical sections adding to the challenge. Conditions can become muddy or soft after rain, making trail shoes a sensible choice.
This is a demanding course rather than one designed for personal bests, with rewarding views across the Severn Valley throughout the race. The route is clearly marked and marshalled, with chip timing and free race photography. Every finisher receives a medal and goody bag.
