The Second Sunday 5 is a friendly monthly 5 mile race around Wimbledon Common, organised by Thames Hare & Hounds. Starting and finishing at the clubhouse on Richardson Evans Memorial Field, the event keeps things simple with a welcoming atmosphere and a scenic route across the common.
Runners head out alongside Beverley Brook before completing two undulating laps and returning to the clubhouse finish. The off road course follows established paths and trails around Wimbledon Common, creating a varied 5 mile challenge with plenty of opportunity for regular runners to track their progress from month to month.
Held on the second Sunday of each month, the event welcomes runners of different ages and abilities and publishes results after each race. Regular participants can also work towards milestone race shirts awarded for completing six, twelve and twenty four Second Sunday 5 events.
