The Loch Thom Trail Race takes place at the Greenock Cut Visitor Centre and features a 5K trail race alongside a junior 3K event. Both routes start and finish at the Ardgowan Fishery Café, using a mix of paved and trail surfaces in the hills above Greenock.
The 5K course follows an out and back route with an uphill trail section climbing towards the saddle between White Hill and Jock's Hill before joining the Scroggy Bank trail. The junior 3K event uses part of the same route, creating an accessible off road challenge for younger runners. Held as part of Scottish Running Week, the event raises funds for Athletics Trust Scotland and offers scenic trail running with views across the surrounding countryside.
