Organised by Steel City Striders, the Salt Cellar Fell Race starts and finishes beneath the dam wall at Upper Derwent Reservoir, with registration at Fairholmes Visitor Centre near Ladybower Reservoir. The race covers approximately 10.9K (6.8 miles) with 486m of climbing and is classed as a Category BM fell race.
The route climbs onto Derwent Edge before descending from the Salt Cellar Boulder, offering runners a demanding mix of open fell, rocky paths and technical terrain with outstanding Peak District scenery. The event is run under Fell Runners Association rules, with marshals and flagged sections helping guide runners around the course.
The race is open to runners aged 18 and over and is pre-entry only, with no entries available on the night. Proceeds from the event support Edale Mountain Rescue and the National Trust.
