Running Wild In Banham

Unique zoo-based event returns for a wild 5K adventure...

Get ready to lace up your running shoes and take on a truly unique challenge at Run Banham Zoo, returning on 24 May. This exciting 5K race offers runners the chance to speed past some of the world’s most fascinating animals, including kangaroos, giraffes, lemurs, penguins, howler monkeys, meerkats and more.

The race winds through the scenic zoo grounds, finishing with a lap around the perimeter, creating an unforgettable experience for participants of all abilities. As an added bonus, race entry includes full-day access to the zoo, allowing runners to explore the exhibits at their own pace after crossing the finish line. Discounted tickets are available for spectators, making it a perfect day out for family and friends.

While some exhibits will be temporarily off-show during the race to ensure animal welfare, runners can still expect an incredible atmosphere and a chance to support a great cause. As a charity-run event, participants are encouraged to fundraise in support of their local zoo, with a special prize awarded to the top fundraiser.

Hydration stations will be available along the route, and post-race refreshments (including bacon rolls, vegetarian options and drinks) will be on hand to help runners refuel.

Organisers comment: "Whether you’re racing for a personal best or simply soaking up the wild surroundings, Run Banham Zoo promises a one-of-a-kind experience for runners and animal lovers alike."
