Run Alton Towers Half Marathon and 5K are organised by RunThrough and take place entirely within Alton Towers Resort in Staffordshire.
Both distances start and finish inside the theme park, following paths and roads around the resort and passing many of its famous rides and attractions. The courses are accurately marked with distance flags and signs, with marshals positioned around the routes.
The Half Marathon provides the longer challenge, while the 5K offers a shorter opportunity to experience the distinctive theme park setting. Both races are chip timed.
Race entry includes access to Alton Towers Resort after finishing, allowing runners to enjoy the rides and attractions for the remainder of the day. Finishers receive a themed medal, with free race photography and post race goodies also included.
