Route Zero is a 15K navigation challenge that starts in Glasgow, where runners are transported to a secret location before racing back to the finish without a marked course or GPS. Every participant follows their own route, making each race a unique test of navigation, strategy and endurance.
After meeting at the event base, participants hand over their phones and GPS watches before being blindfolded for the journey to an undisclosed starting point around 15K away. Once the race begins, there are no directions or course markings, with runners free to choose the route they believe will get them back to the finish as quickly as possible. Live tracking allows spectators to follow every competitor's progress throughout the event.
Route Zero rewards more than running ability alone, challenging participants to make smart decisions under pressure while navigating unfamiliar surroundings. With no predefined route and every choice influencing the final outcome, it offers a distinctive running experience unlike a traditional road or trail race.
