Roon the Toon 10K
Head down to Kilmarnock for the town’s award winning 10K road race which, as the name suggests, takes runners on closed public roads 'roon the toon'.
The race starts and finishes at the Ayrshire Athletics Arena and features a fast, flat, attractive course. There is a £3000 prize fund, great on course entertainment, chip timing and a generous goody bag.
The event incorporates The Scottish 10K Wheelchair Race Championship and The Roon The Toon 10K Stroller Roll for anyone wishing to push a buggy or wheelchair.
In addition to the usual individual awards and team prizes for running clubs, there are also special category prizes for M/F and mixed teams for :-
- First Public Service Team (police, fire, NHS or Local Authority)
- First Educational Establishment Team (School, Uni, College - entrants must be 15 or older)
- First Business Team
- First Sports Club Team (excluding running or Tri clubs)
A team can be of any size but only the first three finishers count based on overall position.
Cost : £16 (£14 for SA and UKA affiliate members)
