Roly's Run is a challenging trail running event in Hampshire's Meon Valley, held in memory of Rich Walklate, known as Roly. Starting and finishing at New Road cricket field in Swanmore, the event features 15, 20 and 40 Mile routes through the scenic South Downs countryside.
All three routes pass through Beacon Hill, Exton and Meonstoke, with the longer distances following the South Downs Way towards Old Winchester Hill. The 40 Mile course extends to East Meon, Ramsdean and Butser Hill. Runners can expect hilly terrain, chalk trails and uneven paths, with substantial climbs and rewarding countryside views along the way.
The courses are marked and supported by stocked checkpoints, with walkers welcome on the shorter distances. Participants can choose between the 15 and 20 Mile options on the day, while the 40 Mile route has a 10 hour cut off. All routes finish at New Road cricket field, with race headquarters and refreshments located nearby at Swanmore Village Hall.
