The Risley 5.7 Trail Race is organised by Long Eaton Running Club and takes place from The Risley Hall Hotel in Risley, Derbyshire. Staged as part of the club's 40th anniversary celebrations, the race welcomes trail runners to a summer evening event while raising funds for local charities.
The 5.7 mile trail route climbs through the South Derbyshire countryside, gaining around 600 feet of elevation on a mixture of trails and tracks. The challenging course rewards runners with far reaching views towards the Leicestershire Hills before descending past alpacas and returning to the finish at The Risley Hall Hotel.
The race is held under a Trail Runners Association licence and is supported by Long Eaton Running Club volunteers. Prizes are awarded across open and age categories, while every finisher receives a commemorative gift marking the club's 40th anniversary.
