The Ridgeway Run is an established trail race of approximately 15K, starting on the outskirts of Tring and exploring the surrounding Chiltern countryside. The route is mainly on footpaths and bridleways, taking runners through the Ashridge Estate and some of the area's best known landscapes.
From Tring, the course gradually climbs into Ashridge and passes the Bridgewater Monument before joining a section of the historic Ridgeway. Runners continue towards Pitstone Hill before descending along quieter paths on the return to Tring, with extensive views across the Chilterns accompanying the higher sections of the route.
The varied terrain and sustained climbing make the Ridgeway Run a rewarding test for trail runners, with woodland paths, open hills and uneven countryside underfoot. The course is fully marshalled, with water stations positioned along the route, before runners descend towards the finish at Tring Park Cricket Club.
