The Richmond Marathon is a flat 26.2 mile race starting inside the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew and finishing in Old Deer Park. The route travels through Richmond and follows the River Thames, passing landmarks including Ham House, Richmond Green, Teddington Lock and Hampton Court Palace.
Runners cover a mixture of road, paved paths, gravel, grass and sections of the Thames Towpath. The England Athletics certified course is a London Marathon Good for Age and Boston Marathon qualifying event, with pacers, regular water stations and entertainment along the route.
The marathon forms part of the Richmond RUN-FEST weekend, with the Richmond Half Marathon and Family and Kids' Mile also taking place on Sunday. The weekend brings together several running distances around Kew and Richmond, with the marathon finishing at Old Deer Park.
