The Richmond Family and Kids' Mile takes place in Old Deer Park as part of Richmond RUN-FEST, with a programme designed for families and younger runners.
The Family Mile allows adults and children to run together, with buggies and pets also welcome. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult. This is followed by dedicated children's races grouped by school year, giving youngsters the opportunity to run alongside others of a similar age and gender.
Children in Years 11 to 3 complete the full mile, while those in Years 2 through to Reception run a 500m loop. All races take place on the flat grass of Old Deer Park and are chip timed. Every finisher receives a medal and goodies at the finish line.
