The Richmond Marathon is part of the Richmond RUN-FEST weekend, starting inside the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, and finishing at a music festival in Old Deer Park.
The flat 26.2-mile route begins beside the Orangery before heading through Richmond and following the River Thames. Runners pass landmarks including Ham House, Richmond Green, Teddington Lock, Kingston Riverside and Hampton Court Palace, with road, path, gravel, grass and sections of Thames Towpath underfoot.
The England Athletics certified course is both a London Marathon Good for Age and Boston Marathon qualifying event. Pacers, regular water stations, marshals, first aid and entertainment support runners around the course. Finishers receive a medal, technical T-shirt and post-race refreshments.
