The Richmond Castle 10K is a scenic road race organised by Swaledale Runners, starting and finishing at The Batts riverside park beneath Richmond Castle. The certified 10K course showcases the historic North Yorkshire market town and the surrounding countryside, with only a very short section on grass near the start and finish.
Runners pass the River Swale waterfalls before crossing at Green Bridge and tackling the climb up Sleegill, where views open back towards Richmond Castle. The route continues through Catterick Garrison before returning to Richmond and following Castle Walk around the castle, leading into a fast downhill finish at The Batts.
The race is run under UK Athletics rules and is chip timed, with distance markers, a water station at 5K, first aid and a bag drop available.
