Race for Life Sutton Coldfield 5K takes place in Sutton Park, one of the largest urban parks in Europe. Organised by Cancer Research UK, the event welcomes participants of all abilities to walk, jog or run while raising funds for life saving cancer research in a supportive community atmosphere.
The 5K course follows a mixture of tarmac paths, woodland trails and grassed areas through the park. Starting and finishing on grass, the route combines flat sections with a number of gentle inclines, offering an enjoyable mixed terrain experience surrounded by woodland and open parkland.
The event is chip timed and encourages participants to complete the course at their own pace. Refreshments, toilets and parking are available on site, creating an accessible fundraising event that combines a scenic park setting with the opportunity to support vital cancer research.
