The Quayside 5K & 10K is organised by RunThrough in partnership with Gateshead Harriers and takes place on Newcastle's famous Quayside. Featuring both 5K and 10K races, the event attracts everyone from first time runners to experienced club athletes, with the 5K also incorporating the Top Flight Race Series.
Both races follow accurately measured closed road routes along the River Tyne, passing many of the city's best known landmarks including the Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge, Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art. The 5K is completed over one lap, while the 10K covers two laps of the flat waterfront course, making it an excellent opportunity to target a personal best.
Chip timing, free race photography, a unique finisher medal, post race refreshments and enthusiastic marshal support help create a memorable race evening. With its vibrant atmosphere, iconic riverside setting and fast course, the Quayside 5K & 10K has become a popular fixture in the North East summer running calendar.
