Pieces of Eight and the Bayside 10K are coastal races based at Bayside Cabin beside Stokes Bay in Gosport. The event features an 8 mile race and 10K, with routes exploring the local coastline and waterfront while taking in extensive views across the Solent, harbour and surrounding coastal landscape.
Runners can expect a varied mixed terrain course with plenty of twists and turns as the route follows paths around the coastal area. The largely open seaside setting provides long stretches of coastal and harbour views, while changing surfaces and turns add variety throughout the course. Chip timing and on course support are provided for both of the main races.
A Mini Mile Pirate Run gives younger runners their own fun run alongside the longer events, adding to the welcoming atmosphere around Bayside Cabin. The distinctive pirate theme runs throughout the event, with themed medals for finishers, while the day also raises funds for GAFIRS, the independent lifeboat service serving the Gosport and Fareham area.
