The Pie & Pea 5K is organised by Muddy Roads and takes place from Trimdon Grange Community Centre in County Durham. This popular midweek trail race combines a welcoming community atmosphere with a scenic 5K route and the event's famous pie and peas supper, making it one of the region's most distinctive evening running events.

The course follows a varied trail route through woodland paths, meandering tracks and open parkland, featuring a mixture of gravel, grass and gentle undulations that provide an enjoyable challenge for runners of all abilities. With prizes awarded to the leading male and female finishers, the event is held under UK Athletics rules with a TRA licence. Every finisher can choose between a traditional steak pie or a vegetable or vegan alternative, creating a memorable race night that has earned the Pie & Pea 5K a loyal following and sees entries sell out year after year.
