The South Wales Prosecco Run is a flexible distance running event organised by Phoenix Running South Wales at Barry Sidings Country Park near Pontypridd. Participants choose their own challenge on the day, from 5K and 10K through to Half Marathon, Marathon or Ultra Marathon, by completing as many laps as they wish within the seven hour time limit.
Starting near Barry Sidings Café, the accurately measured out and back course follows the Taff Trail on an entirely tarmac route through the country park towards Pontypridd and Trehafod. With approximately 50 metres of elevation gain per lap, the road course offers a gently undulating route suitable for runners and walkers of all abilities.
The event operates a flexible start window, allowing participants to begin according to their planned distance, and features a well stocked aid station, same day results and bespoke finisher's medals. Combining a scenic Taff Trail setting with Phoenix Running's flexible format, the South Wales Prosecco Run provides an enjoyable endurance challenge for a wide range of abilities.
