The PHOENIX Fridays Medal Mad Friday is a timed endurance event organised by PHOENIX Running and based at Xcel Sports Hub in Walton-on-Thames. Using a flexible multi lap format, participants choose how many laps to complete, making the event suitable for everyone from first time 5K runners to experienced ultra marathon athletes.
The course follows a flat out and back route along the River Thames on riverside towpaths, with each lap measuring approximately 5.3K. Runners can start at a time that suits them, complete as many or as few laps as they wish within the seven hour event limit and decide on the day whether to stop after a single lap or continue towards Half Marathon, Marathon or Ultra Marathon distances.
Every finisher receives a choice of one of PHOENIX Running's distinctive finisher's medals. Combining a scenic riverside setting, flexible distance options and a relaxed, inclusive atmosphere, the PHOENIX Fridays Medal Mad Friday is a popular event in the PHOENIX Running calendar.
