Fantastic Friday is part of the Phoenix Fridays series, following a flexible distance format beside the River Thames at Walton on Thames. Runners complete as many or as few laps as they choose within the seven hour time limit, with no need to decide on a target distance in advance.
The course follows a flat 5.3K out and back route along the riverside towpath, with no overall elevation gain or loss. A single lap is enough to finish, while runners can continue to build their distance through 10K, half marathon, marathon and ultra territory.
The event welcomes runners of all abilities and uses flexible start times, allowing participants more freedom over when they begin. Every finisher receives a medal, with a selection of Phoenix Running medals available at the finish.
