Lest We Forget is a timed running event based at the Xcel Sports Hub in Walton on Thames, following a flat riverside towpath beside the Thames. The traffic free route uses a 5.3K out and back lap, with runners returning regularly to the event base and aid station.
Runners can choose their distance on the day, from a single 3.28 mile lap through 10K, half marathon and marathon distances to an ultra. There is no requirement to decide how far to run in advance, with participants able to continue completing laps for up to seven hours and shape the challenge around their own target.
The flexible format welcomes a wide range of abilities and allows runners to build their own challenge around the same Thames side course. Phoenix Running also operates flexible start times, giving participants a window in which to begin their run rather than requiring everyone to start together.
