The Borders 8 Hour Challenge is a timed trail ultra held at Rock UK Whithaugh Park near Newcastleton in the Scottish Borders. Runners complete as many laps as possible within eight hours, with each circuit covering 4.366 miles on the trails of Borders Forest Park.
Each lap includes approximately 480 feet of ascent and is recorded through electronic timing. Three laps complete a Half Marathon, six reach Marathon distance and seven or more qualify as an Ultra Marathon, allowing participants to set their own endurance target.
The Borders 8 Hour Challenge is ideal for runners seeking a flexible timed ultra in a supportive setting. Its repeated trail loop, accessible basecamp and clear distance milestones create a rewarding challenge for newcomers and experienced ultra runners alike.
