North Chilterns 50K is a trail ultramarathon organised by Runaway Racing, starting and finishing at Putteridge Bury Country House near Luton. The event explores the North Chilterns countryside, passing through woodland, open fields and ridgelines with views across the surrounding hills.
The fully marked 50K trail route follows sections of the Chiltern Way towards Lilley, Warden Hill and Barton Hills, before continuing through Pirton, Pegsdon Hill and Offley. With undulating trails, steep climbs and varied ground conditions, the course provides a challenging run with approximately 725 metres of ascent. Pegsdon Hill features the toughest climb of the route.
Runners are supported by aid stations providing drinks and refreshments, alongside marshals and medical assistance. The event includes chip timing with live results, a finisher medal, bag drop facilities and free onsite parking. Indoor registration and toilets are available at Putteridge Bury, with a race time limit in place.
