The Nidderdale Way Ultra follows the complete 55 mile Nidderdale Way circuit, starting and finishing in Pateley Bridge. The route explores the varied North Yorkshire landscape and passes landmarks including Ripley Castle, Brimham Rocks, Scar House Reservoir and How Stean Gorge.
Runners face around 7,500ft of climbing across a mixture of trails, valleys, moorland and hilly countryside. The route is largely navigated using existing Nidderdale Way waymarkers, with checkpoints providing refreshments and every entrant supplied with a GPS tracker.
This 55 mile North Yorkshire ultra is a substantial long distance trail challenge through the Nidderdale countryside. The full loop carries 3 ITRA points and a UTMB 100K Index classification, with a demanding combination of climbing, varied terrain and extended time on the trails.
