The Newport to Ryde is organised by Ryde Harriers and is a popular 7 mile multi terrain race on the Isle of Wight. Race 2 of the 2 race Ryde Harriers Easter Series, it takes runners from the county town of Newport to the seaside town of Ryde on an enjoyable point to point route.
The undulating course follows a varied mix of old railway lines, woodland paths, open farmland and quiet tracks, offering changing scenery and attractive views along the way. The combination of different surfaces and gentle climbs provides an engaging challenge for runners seeking something beyond a traditional road race.
The event is run under UKA rules with chip timing, experienced marshals and baggage transport from the start to the finish. Finishers enjoy a friendly club atmosphere, making the Newport to Ryde a well established highlight of the Isle of Wight running calendar.
