Muddy Woody 6

New Venue For Muddy Woody 6

The iconic Muddy Woody 6 finds a new venue at Queenswood...

After 26 years, Wye Valley Runners has announced that their iconic and original woodland race, the Muddy Woody 6, will be moving to a new venue at Queenswood Country Park & Arboretum thanks to the support of new partners Herefordshire Wildlife Trust.

The first Muddy Woody 6 at Queenswood will take place on Sunday 9 February with runners told to expect a challenging new route while enjoying the same camaraderie and challenges that have defined the race for over two decades.

Since its inception, the Muddy Woody 6 has become a much-loved fixture on the trail-running calendar, attracting runners eager to take on its challenging woodland course. For over two decades, Forestry England has hosted the event at Haugh Woods, providing a fantastic setting for the race.

Race Director Pete Nugent said: “We are grateful to Forestry England for hosting us for so many years and helping to establish the Muddy Woody 6 as a unique and memorable event. We’re happy to be partnering with Herefordshire Wildlife Trust. This is a great opportunity to showcase another of Herefordshire’s beautiful woodland settings and to keep the Muddy spirit alive."

This year will also feature the first ever Junior Muddy Woody for 11-15 year-olds which will be organised by Hereford and County Athletics Club.

The organisers are also grateful to their corporate sponsor, Wye Valley Brewery, for their continued support of the event, which has played a vital role in its success.
