New Event For 2026!

New Trail & Ale Weekender to debut in August 2026...

A brand-new trail running adventure is coming to the Scottish Borders next summer as Durty Events launches the first ever Trail & Ale Weekender at the Bowhill Estate near Selkirk. The event will take place on 9 August 2026 and promises a full day of off-road running in one of Scotland’s most scenic and culturally rich landscapes.

Runners will have four distances to choose from, with 5K, 10K, 25K and ultra-distance options available. The variety is designed to appeal both to newcomers looking to dip their toes into trail running and to experienced runners seeking a longer, more demanding challenge. Participants can expect the signature Durty Events atmosphere, complete with friendly support, well-planned routes and a warm finish-line welcome.

Bowhill Estate, home to the Buccleuch family, offers an ideal backdrop for the event. Its winding glens, deep forests and historic country house make it one of the most visited attractions in the Borders, and the estate’s mix of natural beauty and heritage will provide a memorable setting for runners of all levels.

The Trail & Ale Weekender also offers the chance to pair running with cycling, as it follows the Selkirk Gravel Classic, which takes place the day before. Although the two events are separate, together they create a perfect outdoors-focused weekend for those keen to enjoy back-to-back action in the same stunning location.

Durty Events describe their philosophy as delivering safe, professional and well-designed events while maintaining a laid-back atmosphere, a sense of humour and an inclusive environment, all with great value for money.

Entries for the Trail & Ale Weekender open in January and further details will be available on the Durty Events website.
