Runners heading off from the start

Need for speed at Shrewsbury Point 2 Point 10K

Places likely to be snapped up in a flash at this new race.

If you are looking for a 10K PB then the Shrewsbury Point 2 Point race on 1 May is the place be with a super fast course that starts with a large downhill section! Take the brakes off and fly to a PB on a closed road route in a stunning location.

This is the latest offering from Run UKAC that will join their other Shropshire events including the Wem 10K and the Church Stretton 10K. Nothing beats the excitement of a new race and this one has all the ingredients for a winning debut with the unique course.

The action begins in Upton Magna – a historic village 5 miles from Shrewsbury and home to several black and white timbered properties. Runners face a long stretch all the way down which joins the canal and riverside paths and continues to Quarry Park in Shrewsbury Town Centre. Build up the pace at the start then continue to push it until near the end followed by the eyeballs out sprint across the finish line.

There is a bespoke medal and free photos (downloadable) with the option to purchase a technical t-shirt at time of entry, and transport from Shrewsbury Town Centre to the start (for an additional fee).

Run UKAC is excited about this event saying: “We have waited a long time but are delighted to finally be able to bring the Shrewsbury Point 2 Point 10K to life. This is going to be a race to smash your personal best as it’s nearly all downhill or flat and with the added bonus of beautiful scenery along the way. As this is the first race we have had to limit the numbers to 300 and we expect it to sell out very fast. If you want the opportunity to take part in this unique race then do so quickly.”

Tickets go on sale at 9am, Friday 21 January via the Run UKAC website.
