This Tasty Race Has A New Date
A change in date means there is still time to take part in Yorkshire's Marathon Du Malton...
With the weekend’s sombre events in London, it was no surprise that throughout the rest of the country, some race organisers made the difficult decision to cancel or postpone their events. One such event to have its date pushed into October (23rd) is Yorkshire's Marathon Du Malton. With it being such an attractive prospect, and with places still being available, why not take advantage of the delay and grab yourself a spot at Britain’s tastiest run?
If you love filling your belly as much as you love running in 10K races then this is the race for you! Inspired by the Marathon Du Medoc in France's wine region, the Marathon Du Malton is a gourmet food and wineathlon that goes through an area of Yorkshire famous for its award-winning local produce and beautiful countryside.
Starting and finishing in the town's pretty Market Place the race then takes in the breathtaking beauty of the Howardian countryside. There will be various food and drink stops around the 10K course and participants are encouraged to take their time, pace themselves and enjoy the party atmosphere, food themed fancy dress (optional) and gourmet food stops.
For family members not taking part in the 10K a Street Food Sunday event will be taking place in Malton at the same time with the start/finish line right alongside the pop-up picnic area. With a programme of live music, food, drink and fun aimed at spectators as much as racers - it's going to be a fantastic day out!
Speaking about the change in date, race organisers said: “Due to the sad passing of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Marathon Du Malton will not take place as planned on Sunday 18th September. We have been working hard behind the scenes with our event partners to secure a new date, which can now be confirmed as Sunday 23rd October.”
Much more than just a race, the Marathon Du Malton is an experience! If you are in any doubt as to the amount of fun had by all taking part then just look online #marathondumalton
