Nepal Impact Marathon is a Himalayan trail running event based in Batase, with 10K, 23K and Marathon routes forming the finale of a week focused on running, community projects and life in rural Nepal. The event brings international and Nepali runners together on mountain trails through the communities supported by the Impact Marathon programme.
Runners face challenging terrain across all three distances. The 10K includes almost 600m of climbing, the 23K Mountain Ridge route has more than 1,000m, and the 42K Beast of Batase tackles around 2,000m of ascent. Technical trails, steep climbs, mountain ridges and high altitude running create a demanding course, supported by route marking and medical cover.
The wider Impact Week includes acclimatisation runs, community project work and time in the pop up Athletes' Village before race day. Participants experience village life in the Himalayan foothills before the week culminates with the three trail races and a return to Kathmandu after the finish.
