The Mormond Hill Run starts and finishes at the Ritchie Hall in Strichen, following a 9K trail route with approximately 600 feet of ascent. The course climbs to the summit of Mormond Hill, where runners are rewarded with panoramic views stretching across the Buchan countryside from the sea to Bennachie before descending back to the village.
Organised by local volunteers, the race provides marshalled support, a water station at the summit, changing facilities and post race refreshments. Every finisher receives a bespoke medal, with trophies and prizes awarded across overall, local, junior and age category competitions.
Combining an achievable hill challenge with rewarding scenery and a welcoming community atmosphere, the Mormond Hill Run is a popular summer event for runners of all abilities in north east Scotland.
