The Moonlit Meadow Run is an evening trail running event organised by Channel UK Events CIC and held in Taunton, Somerset. Originally inspiring the Dark Skies Series of night trail races, the event offers 5K and 10K distances on a traffic free course through Longrun Meadow, Silk Mills and French Weir Park, with the 10K completing two laps of the 5K route.
The flat course follows well maintained trails and paths, making it an attractive choice for runners aiming for a fast trail time as well as those taking on their first night trail event. One of the course highlights is the Willow Cathedral, with the route taking runners through this distinctive feature before returning across the meadows. When conditions allow, the evening setting is enhanced by moonlight, adding to the event's unique atmosphere.
As with other Channel UK Events CIC races, sustainability is an important part of the event, with bespoke wooden finisher's medals available as an optional purchase to help reduce waste while providing a lasting memento for those who choose one.
Combining accessible trails, a welcoming atmosphere and a distinctive night running experience close to Taunton town centre, the Moonlit Meadow Run has become a popular fixture in the Somerset trail running calendar.
