The Montane Lakeland 100 is one of the UK's most iconic ultra trail races, taking runners on a challenging 100-mile circular journey through the Lake District National Park.
Starting and finishing in Coniston, the route follows public bridleways and footpaths through Dunnerdale, Eskdale, Wasdale, Buttermere, Keswick, Matterdale, Haweswater, Kentmere, Ambleside and Elterwater, with approximately 6,300 metres of ascent.
Designed for experienced ultra runners, the event features 14 fully staffed checkpoints providing food and drink, with a 40-hour time limit to complete the course. Renowned for its demanding terrain, navigation and breathtaking scenery, the Lakeland 100 has earned a reputation as one of Europe's greatest ultra-distance trail challenges.
