The Cheviot Goat is a demanding winter ultra through the remote Cheviot Hills of Northumberland. Starting in Ingram, the route ventures deep into the border landscape, crossing open moorland, rugged hills and the high ridge separating England and Scotland. Organised by Cold Brew Events, it is designed for experienced runners seeking a serious endurance challenge.
Covering approximately 59 miles with around 13,000 feet of ascent, the course features steep climbs, grassy descents and peat covered fells. Runners must be prepared for exposed terrain, difficult winter conditions and long stretches far from vehicle access. Strong navigation skills, careful pacing and mountain experience are essential, with a 24 hour time limit to complete the route.
The event provides GPS live tracking, support from the event team and refuelling facilities along the course. Finishers receive a medal and T-shirt, recognising the achievement of completing one of the region's most demanding winter running challenges.
