The Mendip Muddle is a challenging 20K multi terrain race through the Mendip Hills, starting from Charterhouse on Mendip. The course features 420m of climbing and explores some of the finest countryside in the West Country across a varied and demanding route.
Runners tackle open moorland, woodland and rugged paths while passing Roman lead mines, underground rivers, a nature reserve and an ancient rabbit warren. The route also takes in an Iron Age fort, deciduous and conifer forest and prehistoric tumuli, with plenty of climbing and changing terrain throughout the 20K.
Organised by Weston Athletic Club, the Mendip Muddle forms part of the Somerset Race Series. The combination of substantial climbing, varied terrain and the distinctive landscape of the Mendip Hills makes this a rewarding autumn challenge for experienced off road runners.
