The Maverick Dark Castle Trail is an evening trail running event set around the historic Corfe Castle in Dorset. Starting from the castle grounds, the routes take runners through Corfe village and into the surrounding Purbeck countryside, with three distances providing different ways to experience the trails after dark.
Runners can choose between 5K, 11K and 15K routes, following a mixture of muddy woodland paths, open heathland and hillside trails. The courses include climbs towards Knowle Hill, with longer distances extending towards Stone Hill Down and Blue Pool. Fully marked routes and varied elevation make this a distinctive night trail running challenge for a range of abilities.
The event includes online results, a finisher's medal, event photography and refreshments available at the venue. Fire pits and hot food create a welcoming atmosphere after the run, while free parking and a bag drop are provided. Participants must carry a head torch or chest torch and wear suitable footwear for the conditions.
