The Ron HIll Accrington 10K is one of the races now taking place in April

March Freeze Thaws To Make Way For April Races

Early and mid-March was marked by a raft of postponements and cancellations across the north of England racing calendar and the runABC team had the dispiriting job of checking with organisers for updates and breaking the news of postponements across social media channels.

Many of the events postponed in March have been re-scheduled and a number with new April dates are coming up soon.

Now set for Sunday 22 April is the Ron Hill Accrington 10K and Fun Run. The event has been organised in honour of Dr. Ron celebrating his 80th birthday this year, and with the great man set to make an appearance, this a race not to be missed. Entries for the race close in just over two weeks.

On the same day, Run Nation will host the Run Northumberland Half Marathon and Big 20 Miler. Anyone who registered for the original race, which was due to take place on 18 March, are being advised to apply for a refund or transfer by the 6 April deadline.

The following week (Sunday 29 April) over 2,000 runners will compete at the Epilepsy Action Bradford 10K. Epilepsy Action's very own 10k, the event has raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to help improve the lives of everyone affected by epilepsy. A limited number of places are available for the race.

As we reported earlier this month, the St Helens 10k has been postponed until 15 April. The 2k Fun Run at Victoria Park has also been postponed and will take place on 14 April.
