The Manor Water Hill Race is a challenging 10.5 mile hill race in the Manor Valley near Peebles, held alongside the long established Manor Sheepdog Trials. Starting and finishing near Haswellsykes, the route heads into the surrounding hills before reaching its high point on Scrape.
Runners climb through Glack Hope and continue over White Knowe and Whitelaw Hill before reaching the summit of Scrape, then return to the finish largely by the same route. The course includes around 2,450ft of ascent and crosses fields, hill paths and rough upland ground, with several mandatory checkpoints along the way.
Self navigation is required and runners must carry the specified mandatory hill running kit throughout the race. Organised by Carnethy Hill Running Club under Scottish Hill Runners safety rules, the event provides a traditional and demanding hill race through the Borders countryside.
