Manchester XC League Race 1 takes place at Woodbank Park in Stockport and opens the Manchester Area Cross Country League programme. Separate races cater for athletes from U12 through to senior and veteran level, with distances increasing for the older age groups.
The programme starts with races of up to 3K for U12 athletes, followed by up to 4K for U14s, 5K for U16s and 6.5K for U18s. The women's U20, senior and veteran race is up to 8K, while the men's U20, senior and veteran race is the longest event at up to 10K. Each age group competes in its own scheduled race as part of the league fixture.
Woodbank Park provides a demanding cross country course with steep climbs and descents through the park. The fixture brings together clubs from across the Manchester area, with individual and team competition across the different age categories.
