Results Organiser
Organised by Manchester Road Runners, the Emma Horrell Canal Races take place from The Wharf in Castlefield, Manchester. The event features 5K and 10K races and was renamed in 2024 in memory of club member Emma Horrell, with proceeds supporting Cardiac Risk in the Young.
Both races follow the Bridgewater Canal towpath on an out and back multi terrain course. The 10K returns to The Wharf, while the 5K finishes at Stretford Marina, offering a shorter option on the same scenic canal side route.
All finishers receive a bespoke medal and refreshments in a finisher's pack, with prizes awarded to the leading runners in both distances. Race headquarters at The Wharf provides food, drinks and a welcoming post race atmosphere, while 5K entrants receive a return bus ticket back to the start, helping make the event distinctive and well organised.
