The LSD Backyard Ultra takes place at West Benridge Farm near Morpeth and follows the standard Backyard Ultra format, with runners completing a 4.167 mile loop every hour on the hour. Each lap must be completed within the hour to remain in the event, with the challenge continuing until only one runner can complete a final solo loop.
The course uses a mix of farmland tracks, woodland trails and open paths with gentle elevation, designed to be fast and runnable while still testing endurance over time. The loop returns to a central race village where runners rest, refuel and regroup between efforts.
The event is self paced and highly strategic, with performance determined by how many hourly loops can be sustained rather than a set distance, creating a progressive ultra endurance challenge focused on consistency, recovery and resilience.
